Description

Text by Helena Casanova: The urban scheme is articulated by three big public spaces which aim is according to the designers, to add quality to the existing green spaces of the surroundings, changing them from 'space to place'. The big main square at the end of Kerklaan is designed to improve cultural and social exchanges. The courtyard is the place for recreation. The green strip on the north of the site is reserved for sports and relax. Surrounding these three big urban voids, massive linear blocks with towers on the corners define the architecture. Big areas of the ground floor under the blocks are empty, connecting directly the public spaces. The housing typologies are divided into sectors with gallery houses, duplex, tower apartments and some houses with ground floor access.
